Sleep

Sleep, one of the most important parts of human life. It gets us re-energized, and makes us ready to face the daily life. So why do we need sleep? Well, as I already stated, during sleep our brains re-energize. Also our bodies recover from all the physical stress we've encountered. And we all know that when you're sleepy, you might be a little cranky.

Research has proven that a normal 18-year-old needs about 8 to 10 hours of sleep every day. This means that if you’re going to wake up at 7am you should go to bed at 11pm. Some people might not agree with this, and say that they can manage with only six or less hours of sleep. I go to bed around 10pm, so I get at least strong eight hours of sleep daily. It’s true that some people need less sleep, but for me it would be like torture to feel sleepy. And if I was sleepy, I wouldn’t be able to concentrate at school.

Taking a nap every now and then is a good way to get some energy. 30 to 60 minute naps are the most effective, because if you sleep like two hours and wake up, you often feel a little torpid and it might disturb your sleeping rhythm.

  1. I think it's a good thing that you wrote about this. Even though sleep is so necessary for us, it is sometimes easy to forget when there are some other nice things to do. I too try to sleep eight to nine hours a night to make sure I won't doze off at school. If there is some problem that you can't solve because you're tired, it really seems to help when you sleep on it and get back to it in the morning.

  2. I think that most of the teenagers don't think that sleeping is important. If you don't sleep enough, it effects everything that you do in that day. For example, it effects to your school because you can't concentrate in lessons, it effects to your energy levels and also it effects to your appetite.
I try to sleep 8-9 hours per day and I think that's enough for me.

  3. I also think that sleaping is important to us in many ways. Usually I sleep 7-8 hours/night during normail school week and during weakends I sleep 9-10 hours/night. I have also noticed that if I dont sleep enough it is really hard to concentrate in school.
If you dont get enough sleep during night you can try to take a litlle nap after school. It will help you to concentrate to school work.

  4. Sleeping is definitely one of my favorite "activities" but right now I feel like I don't have time to sleep enough... School takes so much time and I also want to go to my hobbies and have some free time too. After all that clock is like 12pm and before I get sleep it can be even more.. I know I sleep way too little, especially compared to how much I do sports and stuff. This just is the situation right now, but gladly my next period in school is much easier so I can sleep more :-) Naps are also great! Usually I take like 30 minutes of sleep after school, so that I have enough energy to do all the school stuff and my workout that evening.

  5. I like sleeping and I also agree with you all, that sleeping is important for everyone. In the weekends I sleep much more than schooldays, because I have more time. When I have slept well, I can concentrate at school much better and I'm in the better mood!

  6. Good text and I also think that sleeping is important.
I love sleeping but sometimes I sleep too little. However, usually I sleep 7-8 hours/night but during weekends I sleep more. Sometimes when I sleep too much I get headache which is not nice.
Sometimes I have problems with waking up in the morning and I hate it.

  7. I have also noticed that it is very important to sleep enough. If I have slept too little I can't concentrate at school in the normal way.
During a normal school days I sleep about 8 hours per night. I think I should sleep a little bit more because some morning I'm very tired.

  8. Sleeping is very important and I know it but still I sleep too little. On weekdays I often sleep abou 6-7 hours and in the weekends 8-9 hours. I should sleep more but simply I have too much hobbies and school tasks to do. I've also observed that I'm usually very tired at school but what can I do. I think that naps might be good too and that's why I prefer them. I take a 30 minute-long nap every once in a while and I've noticed it helps.

  11. I used to sleep around 6-7 hours but it wasn't enough for me so now I try to sleep at least 8 hours every night and I actually feel more energetic.

When it comes to taking a nap, I really avoid it. I just simply can't sleep only 30 minutes. So when I take a nap, I sleep at least 2 hours. And because of that I can't sleep at night anymore. So yeah, no naps for me!

  14. I love to sleep but yet, almost never get enough of it. I think I have the same problem as many teenager have these days, not getting enough sleep every night. I think that one of the biggest reason to that is technology. I love to lay on my bed and text with my friends till 1 a.m.. A bad habit, i know, but it's just too tempting!
