Most people like movies. Most people have watched all Harry Potter- movies and that's it. No more big feelings about them. But then there's also people who know everything about those movies and hunger more and more. Some people call them nerds.
Let's start with term "nerd". Tehre are many types of nerds. Some are genius with computers and everything which comes to appliances. But now I'm talking about nerds who go crazy from something which is not exist. In plain language: fantasy- game- sci-fi and comic -people.
The line between fan and nerd is very wavering. You can be a fan without being a nerd. What makes between them then? Well, let's put it in this way: If your room is filled by different game-, fantasy or sci-fi -spin-offs and walls are plastered with wallpapers and whe you hear the word "doctor" you simply think the bluebox, you ARE a nerd. (or at least very close)
And that's fine. I don't have anything against fans or nerds, I actually like them. But waht I can't stand is persons who think they know everything about the topic and no one is as good as they are. (Were they better or not). Main thought is that nerds are weirdos. That's not true. Nowadays nerds are "infiltrated" to among normal people. You can't always recognize whose nerd and who isn't. I know some nerds and I can tell you: they can talk about other things too. Even though they are crazy when it comes to their favourite subject.
So, what I'm trying to say is that when you see the person wearing tie of Gryffindor or other crazy-looking stuff, don't judge them. Because if you throw your prejudices away and get to know them, they can come the most precious friend to you.

Very good points Elina! I´ve been thinking too that people has just way too much prejudices towards other people. That is so stupid, because we are all equal, whatever is the interest, style or whatever. And yah, usually people think that people wearing weird clothes or talking only about some Harry Potter movie are weird, but yah, they can talk about other things too. So everybody, just don´t judge anyone by aspect.
ReplyDeleteElina, i liked your text! there was a good point and I agree with you that at the end we all really are the same. I think that world must be more equal and we should respect each others more. I hate that we all have to be so suspicious! It doesn't matter are you a nerd or a fan, because still you are a human. Maybe we all just have to change our way to think about other people!

ReplyDeleteAnni and I gave a speech about prejudices. I know nothing more stupid than knocking someone down for his/her clothes or thoughts. Doesn't people have anything else to do? Well, gossiping with a good friend is a totally different thing, but still. I think we all should get rid off at least some of our prejudices and see through them. Even those are also a good thing, It causes too much annoyance.
I remember that some years ago the word "nerd" had a bad sound.. I think is doesn't anymore? There are so much nerds and youngsters and fans so everything is quite normal in these days. Haha and by the way I think some or most of the nerds are weirdos! In a good way. I love weirdos and in my opinion people who are not weirdos, are boring. That's all. :)
